Re: MGC 2019 hotels

Perfect - thanks, Jay! We were at the Hilton last year. It was fine. It's a hike, but I'm pretty sure they're all about the same distance. Hilton has the Miller TIme Pub attached, which proved to have some pretty great wings. We also hit up Doc's, which was pretty great. Plenty of good food options ...

MGC 2019 hotels

Has there been any group rate deals at any of the hotels? I've gotten ... plenty... of official MGC emails, but I can't find any details about hotels in any of them. Am I missing something?

Re: Munsters Pinball announced

Is that ball in the lower PF actually the size of the ball in Stewie pinball? It seemed slightly bigger to me, but not standard.

Re: Virtual Reality? advice and info requested

For those with PSVR - check out Ace Combat 7. It's set to release on 1/18. I've never played any of these games, but from what I hear they do a good job of bridging the gap from arcade to sim.

Other game room toys

I know there are a lot of us that like a nice variety in game rooms. What other things are taking up valuable pinball space? List em out and justify em! 9' pool table - I used to play competitively in college, and I required space for a proper 9' table when purchasing my first home (that was before ...

Re: Munsters Pinball announced

Looks pretty neat. I'm pretty sure I've been priced out of the NIB market, but I'm looking forward to giving it some plays. The recent stern reveals have been much better. I like that they released gameplay video, pics, and started production all in the same day. And they thought better of letting J...

Re: New online sales tax collection (non pinside style)

Since my wife is a straight-laced CPA, I've always paid sales tax on any online purchase. I also used to work for an online retailer, and there was real concern over how this law would affect our business, since most people either dont abide by those laws, or had no idea of their obligation to pay t...

Re: Virtual Reality? advice and info requested

I was pretty big into FPS shooters when I was younger. I played Counter-Strike when it was first released. It was great, but that's not a game I'm interested in revisiting, especially since it seems like everything is done on only a couple of different maps now. I played Onward and Pavlov in VR. Nei...

Re: Virtual Reality? advice and info requested

Oh, I've done that too. Or at least used to. Brian and I used to go through a season of Madden 06 (the best madden, passer vision was key) in 2 days quite often. After the removal of passer vision, playing as a DB is no fun for me. I have EA pass, and figure I wont get through the 10 hour madden 19 ...

Re: Virtual Reality? advice and info requested

I'm starting to come to the realization that I have more games left than years, and I could just just stop buying games now and never run out. This is so depressing, and so true. The real depressing part is when I want to revisit some of the classics from my youth, and then a few hours in I wonder ...

Re: Virtual Reality? advice and info requested

I have a Rift. I bought it solely for my racing sim, but I have not yet even set it up for that, yet. It works much better than I ever expected. I would say that most games do require a pretty large vacant space to be enjoyable - probably at least 8x8. I really don't know how far out the next genera...

Re: What Non-Pinball Projects Are You Working on?

Very cool you got the kids involved. I remember helping my dad/grandpa re-shingle my roof and side our house one summer. I'm positive I slowed it down, but you learn an array of life skills in that type of environment. I'm really glad they had the patience to allow me to help. Are you going to do an...
